YLF believes that it is essential that all of hers children are aware of their histories,
where they come from and what they have experienced etc. However they also believe that their children
should have a broad knowledge of other cultures and countries, including their traditions, beliefs and languages.
Many of this culture is taught through various practices such as drama, poetry, music, dance art etc
that the children are encouraged to participate in each evening after school. YLF believe that these practices
will enable justice and understanding that everyone is equal, no matter what race, religion or culture
they come from.
Also, exchange programmes under culture help our youth learn of new culture. We are is organizing a
handicraft training exchanging programme where there would be education of the youth from our foundation
and the various communities on a lot of crafts: weaving, ornaments, graphic designs and a lot more to
serve as hobby or profession for them. We appeal to voluntary organizations, philanthropists and all
concerned to come with ideas, donations and services to help broaden and improve our activities.
The children are organized occasionally to go on excursions at various cultural centres including
National theatre, Art Centre, Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum, Effua T. Sutherland’s Children Park, and
some acting companies in Ghana. This is with the objective of acquainting them with our cultural values
and the boundless professions available in the cultural industry.
